 Elsie L. Trainor, 94, of Streator passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at her daughter’s residence in Streator.

 Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, November 9th at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator.

Visitation will be from 9-10 A.M. Saturday, November 9th at the church.  Private burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Streator.

The Solon-Telford Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

  Born December 19, 1929 in Streator she was the daughter of John and Emma (Seroka) Lesak.  She married F.J. “Bud” Trainor on July 3, 1951 at Immaculate Conception Church in Streator.  He preceded her in death on February 9, 2009.

  She is survived by a son, Ron (Mollye) Trainor of Streator; daughters, Linda (Gene) Handzo-Keith of Streator and Dorothy (Mike) Phillips of Streator; 9 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; a brother, Gene (Dennis Emmick) Lesak of Monclova, Ohio; and sisters, Theresa Hogan of Odell, Rita (Willy Emm) Pshak of Tonica and Dolores (Jim) Hefler of Streator; many nieces and nephews also survive.

  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a great grandson, Bailey Aukland; a great-great grandson, Grayson Kozak; and a sister, Marcella (Dick) Handzo.

  Born and raised in Streator she attended St. Mary’s Grade School and graduated from Streator High School in the class of 1947.

  She worked through the years for General Electric.  She also owned and operated Buehler’s Market and AR Best Pest Control along with her husband, Bud.

  She was a member of the former Immaculate Conception Church and currently belonged to St. Michael the Archangel Church.  She also formerly volunteered at St. Mary’s Hospital as a Pink Lady.
