The Kansas City Chiefs (7-0) have acquired New England Patriots edge rusher Josh Uche in exchange for a 2026 sixth-round pick (per ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler).

It’s the second trade the Chiefs have made recently, after acquiring wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins in a deal with the Tennessee Titans last week. Amid trade interest, Uche was scratched during the Patriots’ 25-22 victory over the New York Jets on Sunday.

The Patriots selected Uche, 26, in the second-round of the 2020 NFL Draft. In 58 career games for New England he tallied 20.5 sacks, with his best season coming in 2022 when he tallied a career-high 11.5 sacks in 15 games. He re-signed with the Patriots as a free agent before the season on a one-year, $3 million contract and will be an unrestricted free agent after this season. This season with the Patriots, Uche posted 13 tackles and two sacks in seven games.
