 Gregory L. Koncor, 80, of Streator passed away Thursday, October 10, 2024 at O.S.F. Center for Health in Streator.

  Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 16th at Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator. Father Ignacio Cardenas will officiate.

  Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 16th at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.

  Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Streator.  Pallbearers will be Greg, Jeff, Gabriel, Luke, Nicole, Ethan, Lainey and Taylor Koncor.  Honorary pallbearers will be Waverleigh Koncor, Juden Koncor, Seth Cox, Cade Cox, Loren Westerhold and Winslow Koncor.  Full military rites will be accorded by members of the Leslie G. Woods American Legion Post 217 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1492.

  Born June 11, 1944 in Streator, he was the son of Joseph and Mable (Bumgarner) Koncor.  He married Frances (Hrasch) on November 30, 1968 at Immaculate Conception Church, Streator.

  He is survived by his wife; Frances Koncor; sons, Greg (Jackie) Koncor of Streator, Jeff (Staci) Koncor of Peru, Gabriel (Koren) Koncor of Streator, Luke Koncor of Streator; a daughter, Nicole (Loren Westerhold) Koncor of Streator; grandchildren, Waverleigh (Kenny Schmitt), Juden, Lainey, Ethan (Katelyn) and Taylor Koncor; Seth and Cade Cox, Loren Westerhold; great grandson, Winslow Koncor and his two dogs, Pepper and Sophie.

  He was preceded in death by his parents and his cousin, Don Stevenson.

  Born and raised in Streator, he attended St. Mary’s Grade School and graduated from Streator High School in 1962.  He graduated from Rockford Business College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.  After graduation he served in the United States Army Reserves.

  Greg started his own accounting business, Koncor Accounting, and was still serving his clients until his passing.  He also worked for Town and Country Disposal as their accountant for many years.

  Greg was an avid sports fan.  His favorite teams were the White Sox, Bears and Blackhawks.  He loved to bowl and was a member of the Streator Bowling Association.  He was named Bowler of the Year in 1988 and was inducted into the Streator Men’s Bowling Association Hall of Fame in 1996.  He enjoyed military memorabilia, especially WWII airplanes and taking rides in his 1969 Javelin.  He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
