PERU – The city of Peru is commemorating the life of a former Peru police chief. At Monday night’s city council meeting, Chief Sarah Raymond acknowledged the passing of Glenn Frederickson, former Peru Police Chief. Frederickson served in the U.S. Army, then later became a commander with the Illinois State Police, the first through district 17 in LaSalle. After retirement Fredrickson worked for the Illinois Attorney General’s Office before becoming chief of police in Peru in 1996. Frederickson served as Peru’s police chief for over ten years.
