Born March 5, 1936 in Streator she was the daughter of John and Loretta (Hartigan) Nolan.  She married Bernard J Sokol on June 4, 1955.  Pat met Bernard Sokol at an ice cream soda shop where their love for each other, and ice cream, carried throughout their 69 years of marriage. He survives in Ellisville, Missouri.

She is also survived by her daughter Kimberly (Philip) Ranft of Ellisville, MO; her son, Patrick (Tracy) Sokol of Hudson, IL; her daughter-in-law, Martha (Greg) Sokol of Winchester, TN; 9 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren, with 2 on the way; and sisters, Janet Rennell and Donna Kelly.

She was preceded in death by her greatest source of laughter, her son, Greg Sokol; her parents; a sister, Kathy Hausaman; and a brother, Edmund Nolan.

Pat was raised in the Wenona area growing up on the family farm, attended Wenona Grade School and graduated from Wenona High School. She lived most of her life in Streator, IL; spent winters in Longboat Key, FL; moving to Missouri in 2023.  Pat worked for the Streator Elementary School system in the Administration office.  She was formerly a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church (St. Stephen’s Church) and never missed a Sunday mass.

Pat will be lovingly remembered for her kind spirit, unconditional love, and protection of her family. Her competitive spirit would shine during lively games of euchre and rummy.  She brought endless joy through her heartfelt laughter and sense of humor.
Her family treasures the memories made planting flowers at the house on Hickory Street, celebrating holidays and birthdays around the kitchen table, with each family event highlighted by her wonderful cooking, especially her cherished potato salad. She also loved watching the sunset with friends on Longboat Key.
The family will deeply miss their beloved Irish lady.

Memorials can be directed to Hunter’s Hope, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
