OTTAWA – A winter weather advisory goes into effect at midnight as a blast of snow is set to march across central Illinois on Wednesday. The National Weather Service is predicting a band of snow could drop up to 8″ or more across the state, especially in areas south of Interstate 80. The snow is expected to be heavy at times, with accumulation rates greater than 1″ an hour towards Bloomington-Normal. Locally, around 2″ is expected across the I-80 corridor.
