PERU – Shaw Media, the Crystal Lake company that owns 80 different newspapers and websites, including the Bureau County Republican, The NewsTribune and Ottawa Daily Times, has begun the process to acquire Studstill Media. The deal, which first must gain FCC approval, will add the first radio stations to the company’s portfolio. Studstill Media was a family owned company that came to north central Illinois in 1988 and grew to six radio stations. Industry publications say the deal was worth 1.8 million. Studstill Media stations include WALLS 102, Classic Hits 106, Q Hit Music 97.7 & 103.3, WGLC, WBZG, and WSPL AM & FM.
